Samantha Wittchen - Co-Chair and Co-Founder
After years of searching for the perfect combination of analytical and creative work, Samantha has found her niche in sustainability. In 2008, she co-launched iSpring, a sustainability consulting firm serving small to mid-size businesses the Philadelphia and Lehigh Valley regions. A talented designer, engineer and creative thinker, Samantha uses a design methodology to tackle big, multi-disciplinary problems and find solutions that improve our lives and the world around us. Her ability to synthesize and interpret disparate types of data makes her a strong addition to any team.
Samantha holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Virginia. Committed to sustainability in the Philadelphia region, she manages the website for RecycleNOW Philadelphia, a civic campaign to improve recycling throughout the city. She also works ad-hoc on other sustainability advocacy issues in the city.
Additionally, Samantha is quite active in the arts. As a professional harpist, she performs and teaches throughout the greater Philadelphia area. She is also the Professional Associate for Harp at the University of Pennsylvania and makes up one quarter of The Wittchen Initiative, a unique music group consisting of two harps, tuba and voice. She sits on the Board of Directors for Flashpoint Theatre Company and attends as many other cultural events as her busy schedule allows.
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."
